D-Town Farm Volunteer Update: Temporary Closure Due to Air Quality
The health and safety of our community is always our priority. Due to poor air quality, D-Town Farm will be closed to the public on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Depending on air quality conditions, the farm may also remain closed on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

We will continue to monitor air quality reports closely and will share updates as soon as it is safe to resume volunteer activities. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the farm when conditions improve.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued commitment to building Black food sovereignty with us. Please stay safe, take care of yourselves and your loved ones, and watch our website and social media channels for the latest updates.

20 YEARS OF BUILDING BLACK FOOD SOVEREIGNTY

WHAT IS BLACK
FOOD SOVEREIGNTY?

Black food sovereignty is the right of people of African descent to access healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. Food sovereignty is, therefore, a holistic, healthy and sustainable approach for communities to address chronic food insecurity.
