2026 is the year of our 20th Anniversary. We are deeply grateful to be in community with supporters like you. For nearly two decades, the Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network has worked alongside Detroiters to grow food, leadership, and self-determination rooted in Black love and collective care. Your generosity makes this work possible.
We invite you to celebrate this milestone with us in the year ahead—honoring the legacy we’ve built together and planting seeds for the next generation of Black food sovereignty in Detroit. Thank you for believing in our mission and standing with us.
With gratitude,
Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network

WHO WE ARE
The Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network (DBCFSN) was established to ensure that Detroit's African American population plays a significant role in the local food movement. Given that African Americans constitute most of Detroit's population, DBCFSN aims to position them in leadership roles within this movement. Our commitment to Black food sovereignty and environmental and climate justice has expanded nationally and globally. Through our initiatives, we strive to create sustainable, equitable food systems and advocate for policies that address the unique challenges faced by Black communities in Detroit and beyond.
